Describing more than one thing
Adjective number
Make the adjective plural when it describes more than one person or thing.
The pattern
- Usually add -s after a vowel: pequeño → pequeños.
- Usually add -es after a consonant: fácil → fáciles.
La habitación es pequeña.
The room is small.
Why it works: One room takes singular pequeña.
Notice the difference
Las habitaciones son pequeñas.
The rooms are small.
Why it works: Several rooms require plural pequeñas.
One thing to watch for
The adjective changes even after es or son: las camas son cómodas.
