Choosing el or los, la or las
Article–noun number
Match the article to whether the noun is singular or plural.
The pattern
- El → los; la → las.
- Un → unos; una → unas.
La cita es mañana.
The appointment is tomorrow.
Why it works: One appointment takes singular la.
Notice the difference
Las citas son mañana.
The appointments are tomorrow.
Why it works: More than one appointment takes las, and cita becomes citas.
One thing to watch for
Change both pieces: las citas, not la citas.
